How green lights compounded into something huge

Simone Iriarte

Over a decade ago I was running late to a soccer game. On the way there we hit every green light. I jokingly but also seriously stated, "Thanks God!" in a high pitched voice like

Years later while curating my first batch of stickers I thought about how much further I took that moment when I was talking about my "Luck Log" in my journal on YouTube.

A poll for stickers with 3 stickers with a traffic light having the least votes.
Voted out of the OG sticker batch, but now, revived!

I noticed that whenever I was appreciative of the mundane positive things in life, a bunch of larger "no way!!" moments fell into my lap like confetti.

I also noticed that I could also set off an entire doo-doo-dumpster-fire day by letting a single moment chain react into a series of shitty events.

"Throw the whole day away please..." 🔥

We're totally allowed to have a "bad" or an "off" day – but this can easily spiral into weeks, months, years.... lifetimes....

But again, this meant I could take advantage of a "good" or an "on" day – and it could all start with just taking a second to notice and enjoy a literal or metaphorical green light.

The truth is, when we notice these things we feel better – and in my experience, the best things always happened for me when I was in a good mood.

It's so much easier to rest, be creative, and focus on meaningful work when my day was filled with tiny happenings that felt awesome in the moment or played out in my favor later on.

When green light moments compound, time slows down, urgency isn't a thing, and I'm reminded that I can always choose to be happy in the present instead of the future.

So what would you add to your luck log today?

Roll with it and see how many green lights you can link together 🍀

✌🏾TTYL!✌🏾

P.S. The GLUCK! sticker didn't make the cut back then. But ever since I've been trying to following my own green lights, 2 years later I decided print it anyways.
